Roaming is a term used in wireless communications which refers to the connectivity service in a location different from the home location where the service was registered. Roaming is of two types-SIM based roaming and Username/Password based roaming. Sometimes people use their mobile phones outside the operator's coverage area to make calls and stay in touch with their loved ones. This is done by availing the roaming service. However this service costs quite a lot. There is no cheap roaming regardless of the mobile provider people use.

• Mobile phone should be enabled to be used abroad
• It should be checked if the handset will work in that specific country
• To avoid high bills the tariff should be checked
• International packages should be chosen such that the best deal is obtained
• Using mobile internet can increase the bills
